8 -elicit o illicit?-
Nota d'usoLa pronuncia di queste due parole può essere uguale, ma il loro significato è molto diverso. Il verbo to elicit significa principalmente “suscitare” o “dedurre, trarre”: to elicit a response, suscitare una reazione; to have difficulty in eliciting information from the suspect, avere difficoltà a ottenere informazioni dal sospettato. Illicit, invece, significa “illecito, non permesso”: the use of illicit drugs, l'uso di sostanze illecite; to engage in an illicit relationship, avere una relazione illecita. -
